More News, and Announcing 20 More Guests for Katsucon 15!
Updated 1/4/2009: All masquerade skit slots have been filled. If you sent in an application, we'll be in touch with you soon!
This week's Video of the Week gives us a look back at last year's Masquerade event, featuring a Death Note-inspired favorite of the audience. Don't forget that sign-ups for this year's Masquerade start on Saturday, January 3, 2009!
Last week we promised that we'd only scratched the surface of Katsucon 15's guest roster, and this week we deliver!
Rounding out our anime industry guests this year are Bandai producer Toshifumi Yoshida and writer/actress/producer Trish Ledoux.
We're also adding to this year's musical guest line-up with artists Atomic Box and Ego Likeness (both of whom will be performing live at Katsucon late Friday night), and musician Robert Thomas.
Of course, you can't have Katsucon without some of the biggest artists from around the country, and leading off that list--back by popular demand--are Phil and Kaja Foglio! We're also proud to announce the return of the artists of AppleGeeks, Ghostfreehood Alliance, Erfworld, Fragile Gravity, and Stupid and Insane Defenders Against Chaos, as well as Chris Malone of Blue and Blond and Michael "Mookie" Terracciano of Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire. Also appearing at Katsucon 15 are artists Darren Gendron of Dear Pirate and Bryan Prindiville of Bassetville.
What, you want more guests? All right, then how about the crew from Halfpixel--Brad Guigar of Evil Inc., Dave Kellett of Sheldon, and Kris Straub of Starslip Crisis--at no extra charge!
Check out our new and improved Guests Page for a full listing of this year's special guests.
One last note: the $45 pre-registration rate ends when the year does on December 31st, so pre-register now to save five bucks off the full price. And if you're planning to pre-register by mail (individually or as a group), those must be postmarked by December 31st too. You can still pre-register individually online up until a week before Katsucon 15--and we highly recommend you do because registrations are going fast!--after December 31st for $50.
Oh, and if you're coming to MAGFest this weekend, be sure to visit our table and say hi! We'll have lots of gaming going on throughout the weekend and maybe some tournaments and prize giveaways too.
Over the next few weeks, we'll be shining the spotlight on some of this year's featured events, including lots of new and exciting shows and some returning favorites. Until then, don't forget to subscribe to Katsucon's YouTube channel here:
